Really Odd

Postby asterixlite » Fri Apr 04, 2008 9:12 pm

I have an Asterisk Server in LAN over a VMWare Server. I have a SIP Phone Connected without problems to the Asterisk Server, I trying to use X-Lite and I only can connect the client once using the suggested config. Now every time I try I receive Registration Error 408 - Request Time Out. The network connection between the PC and the Asterisk is ok, ping < 1ms. There is no firewall at all. Why I can connect when the device is working and i've been able to connect the x-lite softphone just once without problems????

Thanks in Advance

Configuration Change When Port 5060 is Blocked

Postby Frabbito » Mon Apr 28, 2008 5:06 pm

Please provide the alternate configuration when we need to change it due tio the fact that a particular location where the cable/T1 provider has belocked it's 5060 port. There must me a way to use a local IP addres then go out to grab my server's IP address. Right??

Xlite works just fine in all other situations.

Thahks,
Frank

help please

Postby illidante » Fri Aug 01, 2008 3:24 pm

hi, so i've been doing quite a bit of research-
from Asterisk, the Future of Telephony, i've copied the basic sip.conf and the basic extensions.conf

and from the X-lite point of view
asteriskguru. com/tutorials/xlite_softphone.html
i've followed that as closely as i can. I have also tried many of the solutions posted on the fourm, but none of them have worked.

Apparently i need to find system settings|sip proxy and set that to default...

This might be the old way of doing it, but i dont know of another way to do it.
thansk in advance
